BSG has taught girls since 1918. Like Bournemouth School, Parkstone Grammar and Poole Grammar, it shares one entrance test under what its own admissions policy calls 'the Consortium' — but its actual oversubscription criteria differ from its partners': more than half its places (100 of 180) go purely to the highest-scoring eligible girls regardless of catchment, before geography enters the picture at all, a more open design than Poole Grammar's catchment-first structure.
